The Board of Education met on Tuesday, October 14 for its Regular Monthly Meeting at the Robert Procunier Administration Center.
The Board heard the following from Superintendent Dr. Jeff Stawick:
- The District will begin using Panorama Culture and Climate surveys in lieu of the 5Essentials Survey. The first staff survey will take place this month, while the first survey for students and families will begin in February.
- A new partnership with with Sertoma Star Services will make individual and small group counseling services available to students onsite during the school day.
- Light fixtures at Memorial School are scheduled to be replaced while students are out of the building for the Thanksgiving holiday. Lights in the classrooms and hallways will be replaced as part of the ComEd LED light incentive, with an approximate District cost of $2,500.
- A plan for summer 2026 projects is being developed and will be presented to the Board in the coming months.
- The total compensation reports for administrators and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) employees earning more than $75,000 have been updated on the District website in accordance with Public Acts 96-0434 and 97-0609.
The Board also heard the following:
- Eileen Von Borstel, the president of the Teachers Union, provided an update on upcoming events and activities at each of the schools.
- Jeff Charleston, Director of Business Services and CSBO, presented the District’s Quarterly Investment Report.
The Board took the following action at the meeting:
- Approved the 2025-2030 contract negotiated between the District and the Tinley Council of Local 604, IFT/AFT Teachers Union.
The Board met in Closed Session to discuss collective bargaining and personnel matters.
